After 17 traumatic months, forensics attorney Sarah Burger has been vindicated – and is free from prosecution and persecution. She was arrested after uncovering massive corruption at Fort Hare University and ended up in the dock alongside some of those she had investigated. Now that all the charges against her have been withdrawn, Burger warns of consequences for those involved in the gross miscarriage of justice. “…the police and the NPA hold very, very powerful positions over people’s lives and freedom of movement. And when you are abused in a process like this and as a legal practitioner, looking at this unfolding and feeling completely powerless, you want to say to yourself, gee, what an abuse of that unlevel playing field. So I believe that it is important from an integrity point of view, that these people come and answer at any committee, whether it’s the Ethics Committee at the NPA or whether it’s the Police Portfolio Committee for the police and in the other platforms where I plan to lodge complaints as well.” Meanwhile, Burger has already notified the SAPS that “we will be suing them – and the NPA will in due course hear from me as well”.

At least two people have been killed in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo after police fired on thousands of mourners attending the funeral of Congolese pop star Delcat Idengo. Idengo was shot dead last month by Rwandan-backed M23 rebels. His music was known for its fierce criticism of both the DRC government and the armed groups it battles.

An Interview with Irish doctor & pandemic questioner, Dr. Paul Cullen. Paul Cullen was born in 1960 in Dublin. He grew up in Rathfarnham, attended De La Salle primary school and the Christian Brothers at secondary level, before going to UCD to study medicine. In 1984 he moved to Germany to work as a doctor, returned to work in Ireland in 1987, and in 1989 went to London for a three-year period of research at Hammersmith Hospital. He completed his Masters in biochemistry and molecular biology at King’s College London, before returning to Germany, to Muenster, where he still works. Dr Cullen had published some 250 scientific papers and several books. He has been a medical doctor for 40 years, specialising in internal and laboratory medicine. He has also spent a period running a major diagnostics lab and has for many years lectured at the University of Muenster. He was since mid-2029 a high-visibility critic of all things Covid, being active in a group of about 100 critical academics (mostly university professors) in Germany. He was successful in publishing or co-publishing approximately 20 Covid-critical articles in the German press, about half in mainstream, half in alternative outlets. In 2021, an interview with him on YouTube attracted more than 1.3 Million views before being censored.
