US-West Rules Based Order In Denial Regarding BRICS & Africa

Interview with OBN-Horn Africa on November 15, 2024
November 29, 2024

The BRICS and Global South are a new reality in the multi-polar world that cannot be reversed or eliminated. It is a new paradigm based on development, not militarization. Is the West, with it so called rules-based order suffering from dementia or denial in refusing to face this new reality-this new dynamic changing the world?

Africa, with potentially six member nations in the BRICS will be in an excellent position to improve the living conditions of hundreds of millions of Africans. China, a leader in the BRICS and Global South has lifted over 700 million Chinese out of poverty. They have PROVEN it can be done with the right policies, which can be applied to Africa with 450 million still living in poverty. The Bretton Woods system and the rules-based order have failed Africa and the Global South. In the interests of the common aims of humankind, they should join the BRICS, and help develop all nations and the 8.5. billion people living on this planet.

The Next 60 Days Will Be the Most Dangerous of Your Life — International Peace Coalition Meeting #77

Over the past 48 hours, the strategy has become clear. After the Biden Administration refused to comment on the explosive revelations over the weekend that the United States has given Ukraine permission to use American missiles to strike targets deep inside internationally-recognized Russian territory—an acknowledged act of war—Ukraine unleashed a volley of missiles on Nov. 19 into Russia’s Bryansk Region. That on the same day that Russian President Vladimir Putin signed an executive order updating its nuclear weapons doctrine, which includes the qualification that “an aggression against Russia from any non-nuclear state but involving or supported by any nuclear state as their joint attack.”

Then, the following day, Ukraine unleashed another attack inside Russia, this time using British Storm Shadow missiles, despite Britain’s repeated statements that they had not given permission to do so. Thus, the bizarre game of intentionally ambiguous escalation continues, leaving the onus on nuclear-armed Russia to guess the West’s intentions and to respond in moderation. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy let it out of the bag Tuesday night, Nov. 19, when he admitted that permissions had been given, and now Ukraine will strike the Russian military “wherever it is.”

On Nov. 19, even before the Nov. 20 attacks in Kursk, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated clearly: “We will be taking this as a qualitatively new phase of the Western war against Russia, and we’ll react accordingly.”

The Biden Administration—or whoever is calling the shots—has now embarked on a mad and desperate pursuit to embroil the U.S. into war against Russia, thereby making it “Trump-proofed” against any President who would ever want to reverse it. In the process, not only have they decided that risking the lives and futures of all people on Earth is a worthy gamble, but they have also torn up the constitutional process of a peaceful transfer of power to the incoming President—despite all their statements to the contrary. As the decision about the long-range missiles shows, the U.S. Administration is pulling out all the stops toward this end, and even lifted the blockade on Ukraine’s use of anti-personnel landmines. It’s undeniable that the world now stands on the brink of thermonuclear war, and must be pulled back through the meticulously careful actions of peace-oriented leaders.

The only thing more consequential than this danger is the absolutely historical transformation unfolding throughout the Global South—and increasingly worldwide. The G20 summit, hosted in Brazil, ended Nov. 19 with shrieks and howls from the world’s would-be colonial masters. The German, French, and U.S. representatives complained that the final communiqué did not condemn Russia enough—a feat that was conveniently arranged when their leaders were not in the main hall, and Brazilian President Lula made an early release of the document. As Bloomberg noted in its coverage of the summit: “if [the G20 summit in] Rio showed anything, it’s that the West is no longer running the show.”

Following the G20, Chinese President Xi Jinping then headed to Brasilia for an official state visit with President Lula, where the two leaders took their countries’ relationship to the next level. They elevated their existing Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to one of a “Community of Shared Future for a More Just World and a Sustainable Planet.” The two Presidents signed dozens of economic agreements and established a task force which will concretize plans for some of the larger continent-wide projects over the coming two months. Reflecting the polyphonic quality of the collaboration between these two nations, Lula said: “What China and Brazil do together reverberates around the world.” Both leaders discussed their joint six-point peace proposal for Ukraine, implicitly comparing it to the disastrous wars unfolding under the watch of the “rules-based order,” with Lula also adding: “In a world ravaged by armed conflict and geopolitical tensions, China and Brazil put peace, diplomacy and dialogue first.”

The world is shifting under our feet. Taken together with President Xi’s joining with Peru’s President Dina Boluarte in presiding over the Nov. 14 opening of the enormous Chancay Port in Peru, which will finally loosen the neocolonial bonds from Ibero America as a whole, and the U.S. veto on Nov. 20 of another UN Security Council resolution for a ceasefire in Gaza, these developments give an indication of the transformation underway in the world. And thus, why it is that some are so desperate to stop it.

The first presentation of the first panel at the November 17 2024 Australian Citizens Party Policy Platform Launch. Presented by John Lander: Former Australian Deputy Ambassador to China (1974-76), Former Ambassador to Iran (1985–87) About the conference: Australia has a crisis of governance, the legacy of successive governments serving corporate interests and foreign powers ahead of Australians. Both major parties have pursued policies concentrating economic and political power in a handful of big banks, retailers, resource giants, and media companies, who profit while the public suffer cost-of-living and housing crises. The major parties have colluded to hand over military control of Australia to the USA (and UK) through the AUKUS partnership, with the public paying the enormous cost. An unprecedented public backlash is shaking Australian politics. The combined major party primary vote is in terminal decline. Corporate CEOs complain the bigger parliamentary crossbench is subjecting them to painful scrutiny of their corporate abuses. The Australian Citizens Party (ACP) is leading a movement of citizen engagement in politics which has forced Parliament to reject policies giving more power to banks and corporate interests, and to take up a powerful policy to reclaim economic sovereignty—a public post office People’s Bank. The ACP’s “Return Government to the People” conference sounded the call for citizens to join the fight for economic and national sovereignty the ACP is taking to the next election

Stop Bullying the World — We Have to Start Fresh — International Peace Coalition Meeting #76

“The only ones who will lose from this kind of American win-win cooperation with China, Russia and the Global Majority, are the bloated speculative interests of the City of London and Wall Street, and the drug-trafficking and Military Financial Complex that they run. They are the ones that have brought the planet to the edge of a total financial breakdown crisis, and to the very brink of nuclear war.”

This Global Majority speaks for close to 5 billion people, and they are committed to ending the era of colonialism, neo-colonialism, and Wall Street and City of London looting of their economies and their populations. The United States must—and can—have a positive relationship to that group of countries, which have stated explicitly that they are not a bloc, and that they are open to cooperating with the nations of Europe and even NATO.

In a Nov. 8 interview, retired Col. Douglas Macgregor spoke to the kind of profound re-thinking of policy needed in the aftermath of the U.S. presidential election. “People don’t think these things through,” Macgregor exclaimed. “We’ve got to give up the whole idea of sanctioning, bullying and threatening. We’ve got to get out a clean sheet of paper and start from scratch.”

Macgregor, who served briefly as a senior adviser to the Secretary of Defense in Trump’s first term in office, pointed to “the financial crisis looming over the horizon” as a crisis that may help the U.S. to do just that.

Macgregor is right. But what shall we write on that blank page? What is the content of the policy needed to replace the sanctioning, bullying and threatening, a policy that will eliminate forever the danger of a thermonuclear war with Russia and/or China, by removing the cause of the policies creating that danger?

In her weekly webcast, Helga Zepp-LaRouche underscored that “the challenge of our time” is for the United States and Europe to cooperate with the BRICS countries in the development of the Global South.”

She explained that “the world stage has changed dramatically since Trump left the White House four years ago, and now the existence of a Global Majority in the form of the BRICS is a new strategic reality, which I think no President of the United States, nor the head of government of any country can ignore.”

But the basis of that collaboration has to be joint efforts around great infrastructure development projects, such as the one at Peru’s Chancay mega-port, which will be officially inaugurated on Nov. 14 by visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping and Peru’s President Dina Boluarte. The building of that port, and the related bi-oceanic high-speed rail corridor linking Peru’s Pacific coast with Brazil’s Atlantic ports, is exactly the sort of project that U.S. companies should be participating in, side by side with China, exporting high-tech capital goods and other products and helping to advance the living standard and skill level of the local population.

The creation of those kinds of productive jobs in Mexico and Central America, or in Sub-Saharan Africa with similar projects, is also the only way to stop the flow of illegal migrants and deadly drugs—not “sanctioning, bullying and threatening”… or worse. The only ones who will lose from this kind of American win-win cooperation with China, Russia and the Global Majority, are the bloated speculative interests of the City of London and Wall Street, and the drug-trafficking and Military Financial Complex that they run. They are the ones that have brought the planet to the edge of a total financial breakdown crisis, and to the very brink of nuclear war.

The incoming Trump administration has before it a historic opportunity. Trump “could start with a completely clean plate,” Zepp-LaRouche stated, “and he could really try to make good on his promise to end the wars, to for sure not begin new ones.” “If Trump would do that—as I have already said in his first term—he could become one of the great Presidents of the United States.

If he goes in the other direction, in the realm of confrontation to try to Make America Great Again at the expense of the rise of China or other countries, I see the world will unfortunately go in a terrible direction.” Join the International Peace Coalition this Friday at 11am EST/5pm CET with Glenn Diesen, author and professor; Dr. Haim Bresheeth, the Co-Founder of the Jewish Network for Palestine in Britain, an author, retired professor; and others soon to be announced.

BRICS Summit shows drive to isolate Russia failed, US expert says

Richard Black also described the summit as “unusually important,” as he noted that the meeting brought together Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the first time in five years

WASHINGTON, October 29. /TASS/. The BRICS Summit in Kazan showed that Western efforts to isolate Russia in the international arena have failed, Richard Black, former State Senator in the Virginia state legislatue, told TASS.

Black described the summit as “unusually important,” as he noted that the meeting brought together Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the first time in five years. “Turkish President [Recep Tayyip] Erdogan’s attendance distressed his NATO partners, who were also irritated when UN Secretary-General [Antonio] Guterres used the conference as a platform to urge peace in Gaza, Lebanon, Ukraine and Sudan,” he stressed.

BRICS Summit marks beginning of end of US hegemony — former UK MP

According to George Galloway, the summit will give impetus to the movement towards a multipolar world order

KAZAN, October 25. /TASS/. The BRICS Summit in Kazan marks the beginning of the end of the US hegemony and dollar dominance of the dollar, former UK lawmaker, writer and journalist George Galloway told TASS.

“The Kazan Summit has been an enormous success… I have every confidence that BRICS 2024 will be a seminal moment in human history, because it is the beginning of the end of the United States hegemony and the tyranny of the dollar,” Galloway said on the sidelines of the event.

According to him, the summit will give impetus to the movement towards a multipolar world order. “The progress that has been made will begin to change the world that has been scared by unipolar power, by arbitrary violence, by double standards. And BRICS is the antidote to that poison. It took several important steps forward this week,” Galloway added.

America’s Self-Interest is to Generously Assist in Development of Africa

The African continent with its projected population of 2.4 billion in the next twenty-five years, will be the center of commerce on the planet. It is in America’s interest to help African nations achieve substantially higher rates of economic growth.

The root cause of virtually all the conflicts ongoing in Africa are the result of  underdevelopment, despite having different circumstances and triggers. The continued expansion of poverty on the African continent, especially among the sub-Saharan nations, is the primary cause of unrest. Desperate, hungry, impoverished people fighting for scraps to merely survive leads to instability and conflict. The U.S., since the death of John Kennedy, has failed to join African nations in advancing their economies by investing massively in infrastructure. If the trillions of dollars spent on USAID and countered terrorism, was turned into long term-low interest loans or outright grants for infrastructure African nations would be more peaceful and prosperous.

The African continent is the least industrialized and has the largest deficit in density of infrastructure per land area and per capita. Africa today produces 1.9 percent of the world’s manufactured goods. This pitiful amount of manufacturing activity contributes to its unmatched levels of poverty. Africa’s vast uncultivated land can feed Africa and other parts of the world, if sufficient expansion in electricity, railroads, roads, and irrigation were undertaken.
