DRC: A CONGOLESE LITTLE GIRL STABBED TO DEATH BY RDF’ INFILTRATORS IN KATEKU.

20 février 2015

Umutekano

It is with great sadness that AFERWAR-Duterimbere has learned about the death of a Congolese little girl by the name of Clarisse KAHINDO, daughter of Bwakiroro and Kabuo MUHINDO residing in Kateku, BULEUSA, Eastern DRC, who was stabbed to death by RDF infiltrators.

The pickup hired by the RDF criminals

According to our sources in the area, on the night of Jan 14 leading to 15 Jan 2015, these infiltrators hired a FUSSON pickup truck from a Congolese citizen, to whom they paid a hundred dollars. This was an attempt by the RPF to kill or kidnap some of the Hutu refugees who live in this area.

Fortunately, this attempt failed due to a stiff resistance from the refugees and the aftermath of this incident was witnessed by representatives of Monusco, who to this day have not made any public declaration about it, even though a child and several other civilians lost their lives in this attack. Considering the fact that this was the first location where the FDLR held a ceremony to hand over its weapons to SADC, some local observers believe that this was an attempt by RDF to embarrass SADC by derailing the Peace process in order to precipitate the region into another pointless war.

Clarisse KAHINDO, stabbed to death

AFERWAR-Duterimbere launches an urgent appeal to MONUSCO and SADC to insure the safety of Hutu refugees in Eastern DRC, and stop the RDF infiltrators from murdering innocent civilians. It is clear that in recent weeks the RDF has increased its incursions inside Congolese territory alongside its proxy rebel group known as Mai Mai Theka, with the goal to kill refugees like it has been doing for the last twenty years. We also know that these two forces tend to commit horrendous atrocities against civilians, that they, in turn, blame on the FDLR. We are concerned about the safety of our people, especially women, children and the elderly.

MONUSCO was also there to witness what happened

Knowing full well that MONUSCO did witness the events of last month, during which a little girl lost her life, we are baffled by the fact that there hasn’t been a public condemnation of this heinous act by the UN Mission in Congo. It is imperative that the International community takes note of all the crimes that are currently being perpetrated against Hutu refugees in Eastern DRC by the RDF and its proxy forces, in order to avoid another catastrophe as the Mapping report shows. This time the world cannot claim that they don’t know what is happening.
